BOSTON, Dec. 06, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Promoboxx, the only retail marketing platform powered by brands, today announced the appointment of veteran tech executive Ernie Cormier as Chief Executive Officer and President. Ben Carcio, co-founder and former CEO, will become Chief Marketing Officer.
Ernie’s experience and successes span a broad range of companies from startups to Fortune 200, including CEO & President at Nexage, the pioneering ad tech platform acquired by Millennial Media and now a major component of Oath's advertising platform. With an engineering and product background, Ernie has delivered successful outcomes and business results for many companies across several sectors, including serving as Chief Commercial Officer at Virgin Media (UK), Chief Product Officer at AOL, VP Product Management at Nextel, as well as CEO or senior executive at several bootstrapped and venture-backed startups.
Ernie will work with Ben and the team to further strengthen Promoboxx’s offerings and customer relationships, while deepening and expanding strategies to drive the company to scale. Under Ben’s leadership and vision, Promoboxx was recognized for the first time as a fast growing private company on the 2018 Inc. 5000 List, with 3-year growth of over 100%, providing a strong foundation to build a significant amount of value for all constituents.
“I’m excited to work with Ernie. He brings us deep complementary expertise across product, technology, marketing, and sales,” said Ben Carcio. “Bringing in Ernie represents our strong commitment to he success of Promoboxx and our customers. We’ve proven that this market can scale, and under Ernie’s leadership, we are committed to accelerating that growth. For me, I’m looking forward to working more with our product and marketing team to unlock the potential of this massive underserved market.”
In recent months, in addition to the Inc. 5000 recognition, Promoboxx has continued to expand the capabilities of the Promoboxx platform. Industry-leading brands, including Rossignol, Hino Trucks (a Toyota Group company), Wolverine Brands, and Natural Balance (a JM Smuckers company) now rely on Promoboxx to connect to, manage, and market through their entire retail channel to reach local consumers near every storefront.
“Promoboxx sits at an exciting position in the retail marketing industry,” said Ernie Cormier. “It has delivered value, and shown commitment to local retail, making it a trusted partner and an industry leader. It has strong opportunities for further growth, along with a strong team and good investors, ready to scale through sound strategies executed well. I’m eager to join the team and get to work.”
“The combination of Ernie’s operational, strategic, and product experience, with Ben’s retail marketing domain expertise, visibility, and reputation in our industry is a tremendous asset as Promoboxx enters its next phase of growth,” said Matt Fates, General Partner at Ascent Venture Partners and a Board Member at Promoboxx.
