Scott brings more than two decades of experience in enterprise application development to DivvyCloud at a time when the company is disrupting the cloud and container security category.  As VP of Engineering, he will be responsible for the ongoing development and delivery of DivvyCloud's software.

Prior to joining DivvyCloud, Scott was the Managing Vice President for Capital One's Digital Products Engineering organization, which builds virtually every digital touchpoint for Capital One customers through mobile, web, Alexa, SMS, email, and chatbot platforms. Scott joined Capital One in 2012 as the Head of Engineering for the Innovation Lab where his team introduced novel technologies and approaches to Capital One including the use of cloud computing, agile methodologies, and development of next-generation credit and banking applications utilizing human-centric design.

"Security in a multi-cloud world is hard, but DivvyCloud is proving that with real-time automation it's possible to embrace self-service infrastructure while simultaneously remaining secure and compliant," said Brian Johnson, founder ad CEO of DivvyCloud. "Scott has a long history of building and delivering scalable products for enterprise customers. His background in highly regulated industries, such as financial services, makes him the perfect addition to our organization. We are excited to welcome his combination of product vision and hands-on leadership to the DivvyCloud team. He will absolutely accelerate our ability to deliver innovation to our customers."

"I'm excited to join the team at DivvyCloud," said Scott. "The company is one of the fastest growing startups in the DC area and is a proven leader with a strong record of providing security and compliance solutions to enterprise customers. I look forward to working closely with customers and partners to identify and build new and innovative capabilities that use automation to make security and compliance accessible. My goal is to deliver a platform that not only meets the highest quality and reliability expectations, but also quickly delivers new capabilities to market at an accelerated pace to meet our customers' demands."

Prior to Capital One, Scott worked at AOL running AIM and ICQ, at the time the world's largest messaging platforms. He also spent time as AOL's lead evangelist for accessibility, helping make its products functional for blind, deaf and physically disabled users. Scott left AOL to serve as CTO for the D.C. based startup Mobile Posse, focused on building CRM platforms for tier 1 carriers in the U.S. Scott's first job out of college involved building software and hardware capabilities for the CIA and NSA, which required a TS/SCI clearance level.

Scott holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science from William and Mary, as well as an M.S. in Software Systems Engineering and an MBA from George Mason University and Virginia Tech, respectively.
