CentralSquare Technologies to Host Local Students for an Hour of Code™

CentralSquare Technologies, an industry leader in public sector software, will host its third Hour of Code session on December 4 for 30 students from Lake Como Elementary, an Orange (News - Alert) County public school in Orlando. Held in conjunction with Computer Science Education Week, Hour of Code is a nationwide initiative to introduce millions of students to computer science and programming.

Participating students will spend an hour at CentralSquare's headquarters in Lake Mary developing their understanding of coding, an instructional language that programmers write for computer operations. Using an age-specific exercise that teaches the basics of Python, an easy-to-learn open source programming language, students will learn how computers work and how computer programmers write their code.

"We're thrilled to continue our partnership with local school districts and Code.org," said CentralSquare CEO Simon Angove. "It's particularly rewarding for us to be able to bring together two of our greaest passions, technology and public service, with the hope that this passion ignites further discovery and learning among these young thinkers."

CentralSquare will host a January session of Hour of Code at its Center of Excellence in Greensboro, NC.
