GigaIO Announces the Release of the First Platform to Dramatically Increase Advanced Scale Computing Performance


CARLSBAD, Calif., Nov. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- GigaIO, Inc., an innovator of data center network architecture and connectivity solutions, today announces the release of the GigaIO FabreX™ platform.  FabreX is the first hardware and software solution to dramatically, yet affordably, increase advanced scale computing performance while allowing flexible utilization and protecting the investments already made by its customers in compute, accelerator and storage hardware. 

GigaIO's FabreX™ technology is a hyper-performance network that delivers unparalleled high-composability and low latency.

More specifically, FabreX is an industry-leading hyper-performance network that delivers improved resource utilization and a unified, software-driven composable infrastructure for optimal user flexibility.  The technology accelerates the performance and composability of GigaIO software-defined infrastructure (SDI).

Features and Availability

The FabreX Switch is the mainstay of GigaIO's network, enabling data centrs to scale their systems with maximum efficiency. The non-blocking ports feature latency values of 43nsec with x16 link width and 86nsec for x8 link width for higher throughput and industry-leading low latency.



The Linux-based, resource efficient software layers onto the FabreX hardware for easy-to-use composing of computing clusters on-the-fly, driving the performance and dynamic composability of GigaIO SDI for enterprise data centers and high-performance computing environments.  Connections between compute, storage and application accelerator resources in the GigaIO FabreX network are implemented with industry-standard PCI Express. DMTF open-source Redfish® APIs provide unprecedented integration with a range of third-party applications for fabric automation and orchestration.

Users can choose from a variety of FabreX software packages to build exactly the cluster configurations they need, including Single-Host Expansion, Multi-Host Clusters and Large Multi-Rack Systems.
