Aviatrix and Cloud Academy Partner to Teach Software-Defined Cloud Routing to Tech Professionals

Aviatrix, the pioneer in software-defined cloud routing, has teamed with the digital skills management platform, Cloud Academy, to teach technology professionals how to build and operate software-defined public cloud networks for Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft (News - Alert) Azure.

The course, called "Managing Cloud Networks at Scale," is a series of informal "chalk talks" and demonstrations that teach software-defined cloud routing, and look at the architectures and issues teams face when managing multi-cloud implementations.

"While compute and storage are relatively easy to do in the cloud today, networking is not," said Frank Cabri, vice president of marketing at Aviatrix. "Our courses on Cloud Academy will help cloud operations teams learn how to simplify networking and secure connectivity between their data centers and public clouds, and between multi-cloud environments."

Among the specific topics covered in the course are:

  • Common issues that occur and pitfalls when running complex cloud networks
  • How to implement transitive architecture designs using a hub-and-spoke model
  • Strategie for implementing and maintaining secure AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) connectivity at scale
  • How to connect a data center with VPCs in a multi-cloud architecture

Public cloud is the strategic direction for most organizations IT infrastructure and it's reaching mainstream adoption. However, networking is often an impediment for cloud teams and is hindering organizations' business transformation efforts. Traditional networking approaches designed for the datacenter-era are too complex to operate in the public cloud, and inherent limitations in native routing from public cloud providers means they may be unable to meet customers network requirements.

Software-Defined Cloud Routing is purpose-built for the public cloud - an environment where simplicity and automation are critical to eliminating complexity and achieving agility. Aviatrix SD Cloud Routers establish an abstraction layer between the public cloud provider's networking primitives and the application to simplify the creation of logical cloud networks and services for hybrid connectivity, data security, multicloud connectivity, monitoring and troubleshooting.

"The nature and pace of change in the cloud ecosystem are forcing organizations to manage digital skills more proactively," said Stefano Bellasio, CEO, Cloud Academy. "With the addition of the Aviatrix curriculum, Cloud Academy becomes an even more valuable resource for organizations taking a role-based, measurable, and ongoing approach to cloud training."

The two organizations will partner on future content and educational resources including videos, blog posts, and webinars all designed to deliver ongoing training and education to keep tech professionals and practitioners current on the latest use cases and approaches to solving public cloud networking challenges.
