ATG USA growth continues North with acquisition of CAD Technology Center

MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Applied Technology Group (ATG USA), an Autodesk Platinum Partner based in North Little Rock, Ark., has acquired CAD Technology Center (CTC) of Minneapolis, Minn.

CTC Express Tools, the industry leader in software plugins for Autodesk building cycle products like Autodesk Civil 3D and Autodesk Revit, will spin off as a separate business. CTC President and Founder, Saeid Berenjian, will head the Tools business. ATG will serve as the exclusive national reseller for CTC Express Tools. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The combined companies will operate immediately as ATG USA and will employ more than 100 people. North Little Rock will continue to house the company's corporate office.

When looking into this acquisition, Berenjian said his team focused on finding a company that would keep CTC clients and employees at the forefront. "ATG was a natural fit. I was able to identify key synergies in our approaches: client-focused cultures, and our fervent desire to be the best," said Berenjian. "Partnering with ATG as our exclusive national Tools reseller allows CTC Software to focus on future development while expanding our reach. We are excited for what is next, both in our partnership with ATG, and in our development efforts to assist our clients.

"Professionals in the AEC industry deserve the very best in support, services, and development capabilities from their technology partners," ATG President Ben Hollowell said. "ATG continues developing new offerings and solutions for our clients and the acquisition of CAD Technology Center only extends those capabilities. Our customers now have access to the best the industry has to offer in account management, product adoption and learning, as well as custom development and productivity tools like the CTC Express Tools. This is just the beginning of our transformation of expectations in the AEC space."

This is the second acquisition for Applied Technology Group CEO Scott Landers and his leadership team. Just one year ago, Landers announced that ATG was expanding its footprint into the American Southwest with the acquisition of CADSoft Consulting in Tempe, Ariz. That move doubled the firm's employee headcount. It has since expanded further by opening an office in Utah in early 2018. ATG's office locations now include: North Little Rock; Phoenix; Tucson, Ariz.; Albuquerque, N.M.; Draper, Utah; and Minneapolis, Minn.

"As Autodesk continues to grow, we are fortunate to have forward-thinking partners, like ATG, who are focused on expanding their reach to meet the needs of our increasing customer base," said Pete Baxter, Vice President, Americas Territory Sales, Autodesk. "We value the high-level of service and customer commitment our partners bring to the table. We wouldn't be where we are today as a company without them."
