IDEMIA Appoints Matthew Thompson as Senior Vice President, Civil Identity for North America


BILLERICA, Mass., Sept.  27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- IDEMIA, the global leader in Augmented Identity, announced today the appointment of Matthew Thompson as Senior Vice President of Civil Identity and a member of the executive committee for Identity & Security business in North America.  Matt will lead the combined Digital Identity and Civil Identity business lines.

Matthew Thompson, CISSP, is an industry-recognized thought leader and innovator in the area of Identity and Security Management. Prior to joining IDEMIA, Matt served as Senior Director of Identity Services for Capital One where he developed the vision and strategic plan for a new Identity Services line. Prior to Capital One, Matt was Vice President, Strategic Solutions at Xcelerate Solutions and was the President and Co-founder of ID.ME, a digital identity platform that simplifies how individuals securely prove and share who they are online. Matt has spent years working in the public nd private sectors to promote privacy-enhancing, secure, interoperable, and user-friendly ways to give individuals and organizations confidence in their online interactions, which garnered him recognition by One World Identity as one of the "Top 100 Influencers in Identity" in 2017 and 2018.



Before pursuing a corporate career, Matt served in the U.S. Army Airborne Division and Ranger Regiment and taught at the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command. He was deployed in four combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan for which he received two Bronze Star Medals for exemplary leadership in combat.

Matt received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Military Institute and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
