Grant Thornton expands Enterprise Technology Strategy and Innovation practice


Grant Thornton (News - Alert) LLP grows its Enterprise Technology Strategy and Innovation (ETSI) Advisory Services business line with the addition of Ravi Bansal, who joins as a principal and national Commercial Advisory Services leader for the Enterprise Technology Strategy and the Advanced Technology Solutions (News - Alert) and Analytics practices.

Additionally, Shyam Bhaskar, Rick Garcia and Alan White join as managing directors. They will help CIOs solve challenges and operate more effectively through innovative technology - including new approaches in enterprise strategy, architectural design, technology business management, and advanced digital solutions in cognitive analytics, cloud, machine learning, Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain and other areas.

Based in Alexandria, Virginia, Bansal is a client-facing business leader who advises senior executives on advanced digital and emerging technologies. He has more than 20 years of experience orchestrating technology, strategy and design to help clients uncover new sources of growth. He specializes in go-to-market and digital strategy, advanced technology solutions and transformations, and early identification of disruptive emerging technologies.

Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Bansal was a partner at IBM (News - Alert), where he led digital strategies and solutions. Bansal received a master's of business administration degree in strategy and finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

A trusted advisor based in Bangalore, India, Bhaskarhas helped various clients excel in adding value to their businesses. In his more than 25 years of experience, he successfully led transformation teams in technology, strategy, innovation, digital solutions and business functions. Bhaskar has extensive experience in supply chain design and optimization.



Bhaskar previously served as chief operating officer of a Diageo Subsidiary. He received a doctorate in engineering and a master's degree in business from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Based in Chicago, Garcia has more than 25 years of experience building successful, high growth and profitable businesses across diverse technical environments. He specializes in enterprise architecture, innovation-driven DevOps, quick cycle testing of emerging technologies and IoT implementation. Garcia has extensive experience in IT strategic planning, cloud computing, data center transformation, and ERP and shared systems.


Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Garcia served as a senior practice leader with firms such as PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Cisco Systems (News - Alert) Inc. and Hewlett Packard Inc. He received a master's of business administration degree and a master's degree in computer science from Northwestern University and a bachelor's degree in computer science from DeVry University.

Based in Dallas, White has more than 30 years of experience working with clients through the full solution lifecycle - from strategy to development and implementation - to expand market share and find new opportunities for growth. He has led initiatives in digital enablement, cloud development, cognitive solutions, advanced analytics and large-scale application integration. White has extensive experience working with clients to build methodologies to manage enterprise programs.

Previously, White was an associate partner in the Watson Health Consulting Services practice at IBM. He received a bachelor's degree in computer science from Denison University.
