Axis Communications Celebrates Women in Security


Security professionals seeking inspiration and a glimpse into the future of the industry were treated to both at the inaugural Axis Women in Security Summit. The summit-hosted by Axis (News - Alert) Communications, the market leader in network video solutions-focused on celebrating women in the industry and emphasizing the advantages of diversity in the workplace. The event, held on June12th, featured prominent women from the industry, panel discussions and workshops. Topics included promoting your brand, managing work - life balance, and the evolution of diversity in the security industry.

The summit kicked off with a keynote speech from Bodil Sonesson, vice president of global sales, Axis Communications (News - Alert). Other notable speakers included Bonnie Michelman, executive director of security, Massachusetts General Hospital; Juliette Kayyem, author, CNN analyst and former homeland security adviser; Betsy Meyers, author, consultant and former White House senior adviser on women's issues; Kim Landgraf, Manager of Design and Production, Security Industry Association; and Heather Viccione, Vice President, Physical Security Manager, CitizensBank and Chair and liaison to the ASIS' Women in Security Council.



"We put this event together to ignite the conversation about diversity and inclusion in the security industry-we believe these factors are key to driving industry innovation and growth," said Fredrik Nilsson, VP, Americas, Axis Communications, Inc. To that end, it's essential to provide a dedicated forum that encourages dialogue and generates new ideas."
