The Campaign Cyber Defense Workshop brings together experts from the region’s industry, university, and government organizations to address campaign security and effective practices for maintaining campaign integrity -- covering everything from data security to countering reputation attacks.
The event will arm those in Massachusetts and New England with effective methods to address campaign cybersecurity. Featured speakers at the ACSC Campaign Cyber Defense Workshop include:
Reputation Management and Defense -- Effective practices in monitoring media channels and detecting misinformation attacks. Reporting and response mechanisms to combat such attacks.
Campaign Cyber Defense -- Experts will cover what resources are available to protect political campaign operations, messaging, and data. What are common sources and modes of attack that campaign officials should be aware of and what resources are available to better protect campaign assets?
“The time is now to begin building new resources, communications paths, and information sharing protocols that prepare us to overcome new digital threats to our democracy as they arise,” said Michael Figueroa, Executive Director of the ACSC. “We are hosting this workshop to make industry cybersecurity knowledge more accessible and strengthen the integrity of the whole election lifecycle.”
