Main Street Softworks Inc. Enhances Monetra Credit Card Processing Solution

GAINESVILLE, Fla., April 16, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Main Street Softworks, Inc. today announced the release of significant enhancements to its Monetra® transaction processing software. The new Monetra v8.7 software offers an unparalleled array of features that enable delivery of enterprise-class transaction processing solutions for merchants and payment gateway operators.

Foremost among the new features are two unique capabilities for simplified, “off the shelf” compliance with the “Point-to-Point Encryption” (P2PE) validation requirements of the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards Council: (1) Enhancements of the Monetra CardShield® feature that provide virtually all functionality needed for obtaining PCI P2PE validation of a merchant's or gateway operator's own, on-premises, Monetra-based transaction processing environment, and (2) a new “third-party decryption” capability that enables implementing PCI-validated P2PE via an interface to the Decrytpx® “Decryption as a Service” offering from Bluefin Payment Systems. Hardware security module (HSM) support within the Monetra software has also been updted to facilitate using the Amazon Web Services AWS CloudHSM service.

The updated Monetra software also now supports a comprehensive store-and-forward capability, enabling merchants to continue accepting credit cards even when network connectivity is unavailable. This advanced store-and-forward functionality is leveraged by Main Street's new ChipTab® feature for bars, clubs, and restaurants, letting merchants securely retain customers' credit card data for later processing, after the final transaction amount is known. The ChipTab feature eliminates the security risks and inconvenience of physically retaining consumers' credit cards while maintaining interchange qualification and PCI-compliant card data security.

Other enhancements include support for "token groups," permitting merchants within a group to share tokens for credit cards held “on file” within the Monetra Data Secure Storage subsystem, user interface improvements to the Monetra PaymentFrame(TM) feature for “out of scope” acceptance of ecommerce payments, database upgrades for improved performance and even better high-availability operations, EMV certification with the Elavon payment processing platform, and new Unattended EMV certifications.
