SageNet to Unveil New Retail Edge Solution for C-Stores at 2017 NACS Show October 17-20

SageNet, a leading managed services and cybersecurity solutions provider, will unveil a new retail edge solution to help C-stores consolidate and streamline instore IT at this year's NACS show Oct. 17-20 in Chicago.

NACS, the national association for convenience and fuel retailing, represents the U.S. convenience store industry, which has more than 150,000 stores across the country. Its annual meeting brings together nearly 25,000 members of the industry for four days of learning and networking.

In addition to showcasing its digital signage experience with a large video wall at the company's NACS exhibit (Booth #3257), SageNet will highlight its partnership with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and Zynstra to develop and support a C-store focused solution based on HPE's ProLiant Easy Connect. Easy Connect is a powerful, high availability hybrid server built for sophisticated retail IT environments with limited space and local support. Its powerful automation capabilities centrally manage thousands of distributed sites at a fraction of the cost and enable C-stores to launch new store services faster.

The market for C-stores is growing rapidly, with in-store sales jumping 6 percent in 2015 to $600 billion. In-store sales grew by 3.1 percent in the first half of 2016.

According to SageNet CEO Daryl Woodard, this growth has led to increased investment in convenience retail outlets and a focus on improving the shopping experience.

"Convenience stores have evolved from 'gas and snack' stops to sophisticated retail outlets," said Woodard. "To meet customers' increasing expectations for data-intensive applications, C-stores need sophisticated, easy-to-use technology solutions. We're excited to be collaborating with HPE and Zynsta to deliver a groundbreaking solution that gives C-store IT teams the flexibility to update all the different technology appliances in a C-store with a single server - one that is easy to install, saves space and reduces their IT costs."

As a result of a close working relationship and global agreement with HPE, Zynstra's virtualization and cloud management software is packaged by HPE as a key part of its new ProLiant Easy Connect portfolio.

HPE ProLiant Easy Connect offers C-stores a number of benefits:

  • Enhanced PCI (News - Alert)-DSS compliance
  • Automated provisioning, patching and configuration of all C-store sites
  • Ability to roll out new stores quickly and efficiently
  • Centralized control of your C-store estate from one single point
  • Prototype, test and launch new innovative apps and services at the retail edge
  • Reduced management, hardware and maintenance costs

SageNet, which provides managed networks to many C-store chains, will provide installation and support. The SageNet exhibit at NACS also will be featuring its full offering of Cybersecurity Solutions, Wi-Fi Solutions and Unified Communications (News - Alert).
