MAXIMUS to Present at the Inaugural Payer and Provider Summit on Social Determinants of Health for Complex Populations

MAXIMUS (NYSE: MMS), a leading provider of government services worldwide, announced today that Virginia Matthews, Project Manager of the MAXIMUS California Diversion Program, will be a featured presenter at the Inaugural Payer and Provider Summit on Social Determinants of Health for Complex Populations.

Ms. Matthews will present alongside Dr. Stanton Segal, Medical Director for the Hazelden Betty Ford (News - Alert) Center, and share insights into how support services for substance use disorder (SUD) can reduce relapse rates and recurring treatment costs for individuals coming out of treatment programs. In their session titled "Avoid SUD Treatment Program Relapse through On-Going Support, Monitoring, and Case Management," they will discuss the social, work and economic challenges that contribute to relapse, as well as highlight proven models for a monitoring and compliance program.

"Studies show that ongoing support and monitoring services for compliance with program sobriety can foster successful recovery and avoid relapse in the population," commented Ms. Matthews. "By investing in a structured program for SUD support services, states, communties and health care organizations can improve the effectiveness of treatment programs and decrease costs."

The Inaugural Payer and Provider Summit on Social Determinants of Health for Complex Populations gathers health care leaders to share ideas and strategies for minimizing the impact of social and behavioral conditions on care delivery and improving population health outcomes. The summit will take place September 11-12, 2017, at the Sheraton Pentagon City in Arlington, Virginia.
