Appnext, TUNE and Fetch to Hold the App Valley Summit to Discuss the Future of Apps

Appnext, a leading mobile discovery platform company, will host a full day, dedicated app summit, under the auspices of CTIA's Mobile World Congress (News - Alert) Americas, to discuss the future of apps. The event titled App Valley will be held with Appnext's two major partners in The U.S - mobile analytics and performance marketing platform TUNE and mobile-first digital agency Fetch. A recent report showed that the top 15 apps exhibited a 20% decline year-over-year, accompanied by only a 3% growth. Meanwhile, today's average U.S. user installs only 1.2 new apps as compared to 6.25 in 2013. Still, app development is far from going out of style. In fact, the total number of apps available in Apple's (News - Alert) App Store has reached 2.2 million-almost double of what it was three years ago, while Google (News - Alert) Play offers 3 million apps.

There is no doubt that while download rates are decreasing, user acquisition budgets are hitting the roof, and companies now need to do more to earn the trust and loyalty of the user. The name of the game is now engagement, not downloads.
