SHI Posts Record $3.7 Billion Revenue in First Half of 2017

SHI International Corp., one of North America's top 10 largest IT solutions providers, set a new record for first half revenue with $3.7 billion, up 12 percent year over year. SHI's year-to-date growth topped a long list of first half achievements, including being ranked as one of America's Best Midsize Employers by Forbes.

SHI's Corporate and SMB division led domestic growth with a 20 percent increase in revenue while Strategic and Commercial Enterprise saw a 7.5 percent increase. Internationally, SHI's U.K. division led growth with a 50 percent year-over-year increase.

"The first half of 2017 saw steady growth balanced between our customers' need to refresh end-user hardware and deploy innovative and secure data center solutions across their organizations," said Thai Lee, President and CEO of SHI. "Through our existing partnerships with the leading technology companies, we're able to support our customers' initiatives quickly and effectively. Many customers are choosing migrations to Windows 10 as a timely opportunity to upgrade end-user computing devices, while our account executives and advanced solutions teams continue to deliver integrated, expert support of on-premises, cloud, and hybrid data center solutions."

Two main areas of technology accelerated SHI's business in the first half of 2017. SHI supported a strong end-user technology refresh cycle that saw increased Windows 10 adoption with Dell, HP Inc., Lenovo, and Microsoft (News - Alert) leading new OEM technology rollouts.

SHI also further built on its quickly growing data center and cloud business. HP Enterprise and Cisco (News - Alert) both experienced double-digit growth, while Microsoft cloud solutions (led by Office 365 and Azure) drove significant growth.

Sales of Cisco services and products were particularly impressive in the first half of 2017, increasing 36 percent year over year. SHI expects to build on the success of this partnership by leveraging the benefits of the new Cisco Enterprise Agreement (EA), which will help to expand the opportunity to deliver collaboration and security offerings throughout SHI's customer base. This program builds on SHI's already strong hyper-converged and enterprise networking practices and is a natural extension of SHI's years of IT Asset Management experience supporting Cisco SMARTnet subscriptions.

SHI also ended the first half of 2017 with several new honors from key partners:
