Skype + Grid Bot to Connect All Other Collaboration PlatformsBETHESDA, Md., Aug. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- BlueLine Grid today announced the "Grid bot" for Microsoft Skype, a first-of-its-kind connector allowing registered Skype Grid bot users to activate mass notification services and initiate group conference calling from a Skype message. The new services extend the reach of Skype to massive communities of non-Skype users, providing the ability to send SMS, text-to-voice, email, and to message other collaboration platforms. The Skype Grid bot is based on BlueLine Grid's proprietary "Promontory" platform, named for the Utah summit where the golden spike connected the Transcontinental Railroad. The Skype bot will soon be available for registration directly from a Skype message. "BlueLine Grid was founded to fix how cops talk with each other; we've ended up changing how everyone commuicates," said BlueLine Grid President and co-founder Jack Weiss. "Our Promontory technology provides first-of-its-kind interoperability between collaboration platforms, and we are proud to expand Skype's collaboration toolbox to include mass notification, conference calling, location tracking and cross-platform collaboration with communities outside of Skype," Weiss said. The Skype release follows the Company's recent successful launch of a Grid bot for Cisco's Spark collaboration platform, which the two companies are marketing together. About BlueLine Grid BlueLine Grid has received strategic investments from In-Q-Tel, the investment arm of the U.S. Intelligence Community, and Motorola Solutions, which is integrating BlueLine Grid's innovative software with Motorola's public safety radio systems.
