Making HR a Strategic Weapon: Kronos Chief People Officer David Almeda and VP of Global Talent Acquisition Kristen Brown Present at SHRM 2017

Kronos (News - Alert) Incorporated:

What:

Kronos Incorporated Chief People Officer David Almeda and Vice President of Global Talent Acquisition Kristen Brown will be featured speakers at next week's Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Annual Conference & Exposition in New Orleans. Almeda and Brown's hour-long accredited session, "Make HR a Strategic Weapon for Your Organization: An Evidence-Based Approach to HR," will help attendees build steps to harness the data in their organizations and construct an evidence-based HR strategy to make smarter decisions.

Almeda, the driving force behind Kronos' globally recognized and award-winning WorkInspired culture, was recently named the 2017 Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of the Year in the Innovation category by HRO Today. Brown is responsible for leading Kronos' global efforts to attract and hire the best technology talent, and she has led strategic recruitment efforts to support the company's growth to more than $1 billion in annual revenue.

Almeda is also a board member of The Workforce Institute at Kronos, a think tank that helps organizations drive performance by addressing human capital management issues that affect both hourly and salaried employees. Other Workforce Institute board members presenting at SHRM include: Sharlyn Lauby on Social Solutions for HR: Social Media Strategies to Help Achieve Your HR and Business Goals; and Dan Schawbel on The Top 10 Workplace Trends For 2017.

Why:

With a history of being viewed as a "soft skills," people-oriented function, HR often takes a backseat to other departments like finance and operations when it comes to strategic representation in the executive boardroom. However, taking an evidence-based approach to HR increases the function's impact, maximizes existing resources, and boosts organizational credibility. This session will review multiple case studies to define evidence-based HR and describe the steps necessary to implement this approach in any organization.

Almeda and Brown's session is eligible for 1.25 SHRM Professional Development Credits (PDCs) and 1.25 Business Credits.

When:

Wednesday, June 21 from 10:00-11:15 a.m.

Where:

SHRM 2017 Annual Conference & Exposition

Room 243-245

New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center

900 Convention Center Blvd., New Orleans, Louisiana 70130
