Ted Mitchell Joins Frontline Education Board of Directors

MALVERN, Pa., April 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Ted Mitchell, Former Under Secretary of the US Department of Education, has joined the Frontline Education Board of Directors. With more than 35 years of leadership in education and government, Ted Mitchell will provide the board with critical knowledge and understanding of education policy as well as insights on the future of education.

"We are incredibly honored to have Ted Mitchell join our board and provide guidance as we build a future for Frontline Education," said President & CEO Tim Clifford. "His life-long dedication to the education community and expertise in practice and policy will have an indelible impact on the solutions and service we provide to districts across the country."

Ted Mitchell joins the board during a period of rapid growth for Frontline Education. In 2016, the company acquired five education technology companies in the areas of professional growth and special education, launched the Frontline Research & Learning Institute to provide data and insights on the key issues facing education leaders, and has grown its workforce by 70% to nearly 600 employees in just over one year.

Frontline Education is on pace to maintain a trajectory of growth on par with last year. In early 2017, Frontline launched the Frontline Insights Platform as well as The Line, a new publication focused on civil discourse from the Frontline Research & Learning Institute. Since January, the Institute has already released three monthly absence reports as well as parts two and three of a four-part series unpacking the new definition of professional development in the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).

"I've been in education for a long time and one of the fundamental changes we need to make is a shift from decision-making based on habit and ideology to decision-making based on evidence and data," said Ted Mitchell. "Frontline is committed to providing educational organizations with the data and insights to make informed decisions that activate real change for our nation's schools and I am excited to be a part of that effort."

The Frontline Education Board of Directors is currently comprised of eight members, representing established expertise in SaaS, human capital management, education curriculum, policy and administration, as well as big data and analytics for education.

The primary responsibility of Frontline's Board of Directors is to oversee the investments and growth of Frontline Education. The board serves as the primary advisory group to Frontline's executive committee in decisions of strategy, mergers & acquisitions, development and investments.
