Jackson Lewis Continues to Expand Digital Offerings; Launches Interactive Platform "workthruIT™"

Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country's preeminent workplace law firms, is pleased to announce the beta launch of workthruIT™, the firm's web-based suite of tools designed to provide employers, in-house counsel, human resource executives and managers with quick and effective legal and compliance information and assessments related to the workplace. Designed in-house with help from Jackson Lewis' recently appointed Chief Digital Officer Victor Barkalov, the tools, which are accessible 24 hours a day, allow users to conveniently explore and "work thru" different labor and employment scenarios.

"We are embracing technology to provide our clients with quick, efficient and reliable solutions to their workplace issues," said Morristown Principal Gregory T. Alvarez, a leader of the firm's Digital Innovations team. "We combined the expertise of our best lawyers with the technological know-how of Victor and his team to develop workthruIT™'s platform of tools and deliver products that drive effective business results for our clients. Users can learn, organize and collaborate with our attorneys to address their labor and employment demands and make decisions better and faster, which equates to savings on both time and cost for our clients.

"We have long been committed to delivering superior products and developin innovative ways to anticipate our clients' needs, and workthruIT™ is the perfect marriage of those tenets," said Firm Chairman Vincent A. Cino. "workthruIT™ was developed by some of our sharpest strategic thinkers in the digital space who have dedicated their careers to helping clients handle daily workplace issues while complying with the law."

"I am proud to say this is just the beginning of the digital offerings coming down the pike from Jackson Lewis," added Mr. Cino. "We are going to continue to roll out additional workthruIT™ tools and more offerings from our Data Analytics team to enable our clients to solve their challenges through technology."

Four general types of tools are available in the workthruIT™ suite, which is universally available on all devices: calculators, checklists, databases/maps and sophisticated assessment tools. All of the tools are designed to improve client-attorney communications, empower clients and attorneys to focus on more complex issues, reduce risk and get to the resolutions they need faster.

Sixteen individual tools are currently available on the workthruIT™ platform, and the firm is in the process of developing additional tools to be made available at a later release.

The tools available in this beta launch enable users to:

  • Research state leave laws, minimum wage, e-verify requirements, and other key information about each state and locality
  • Make better informed, faster employee leave-related decisions, including compliance with Americans with Disabilities accommodation obligations.
  • Conduct detailed self-assessments to evaluate their organization's privacy and data security risks
  • Aid in determining federal contractor or sub-contractor status
  • Aid in union negotiations and staying union-free
  • Conduct detailed assessments of exempt positions to determine proper classification
