Travelers Institute Kicks Off 2017 Cybersecurity Series in Westport, Conn.


The Travelers Institute, the public policy division of The Travelers Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TRV), will host its Cyber: Prepare, Prevent, Mitigate, Restore? educational series in Westport, Connecticut, today for leaders of small and midsized organizations. The event will focus on cyber threats and steps business owners can take to help protect their company. Sachs Walsh Insurance and the Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce will join the Travelers Institute in hosting the symposium.

Josh Goldfoot, Principal Deputy Chief (Acting), Computer Crimes and Intellectual Property Section, Criminal Division, U.S. Department of Justice, will deliver the keynote address, and Anne Hunt, District Director, U.S. Small Business Administration Connecticut District Office, will give opening remarks.

"Cyber threats are becoming more sophisticated, and many small business owners have not taken basic preventive measures," said Joan Woodward, President of the Travelers Institute and Executive Vice President of Public Policy at Travelers. "Our educational series provides a forum for entrepreneurs and professionals to discuss the current threat environment nd best practices to prepare for and respond to cyber incidents."



Woodward will moderate a discussion, joined by Goldfoot and the following participants:

  • Edward Chang, Second Vice President, Cyber Risk Management, Travelers
  • Dominic Paluzzi, Member and Co-Chair, Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice, McDonald Hopkins
  • Will Rasmussen, Director, The Brunswick Group
