Recorded Future Joins IBM Security App Exchange Community

BOSTON, March 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Recorded Future, which provides threat intelligence powered by machine learning, today launched two apps — Recorded Future for IBM QRadar and Recorded Future for IBM Resilient. The Recorded Future apps integrate with IBM security intelligence technology and arm customers with real-time context so they can detect, understand, and respond to new threats with speed and confidence.

The new applications are available to the security community through IBM App Exchange, a marketplace where developers across the industry can share applications based on IBM security technologies. As threats are evolving faster than ever, collaborative development amongst the security community will help organizations adapt quickly and speed innovation in the fight against cyber crime.

Recorded Future for IBM QRadar
To enable security operations center (SOC) analysts to make faster verdicts and better manage the ever-increasing volume of alerts, Recorded Future threat intelligence enriches events in QRadar with external context. Recorded Future automatically collects and analyzes threat intelligence in real time from the open, deep, and dark web, helping customers make informed verdicts. SOC analysts can efficiently dismiss false positives and capture threat context for true incidents.

Recorded Future for IBM Resilient
To help security teams orchestrate and automate incident response more quickly and effectively, Recorded Future for IBM Resilient automatically enriches incident artifacts with threat intelligence context. The incident responder continues to work in the Resilient console and is notified when artifacts, including IP addresses, domains, and hashes are enriched with Recorded Future threat intelligence.

Recorded Future for IBM X-Force Exchange
Threat analysts now gain more accurate and timely insight into emerging external threats with a bi-directional integration between X-Force Exchange and Recorded Future. Analysts conducting an investigation in the X-Force Exchange portal can get relevant threat intelligence from Recorded Future without needing to leave the portal. Also, Recorded Future Intel Cards now include an extension for X-Force Exchange, allowing analysts to view X-Force threat intelligence on IP addresses, domains, hashes, vulnerabilities, and malware alongside the broad ranging and context-rich threat intelligence collecte and analyzed by Recorded Future. Threat intelligence is now available at the analysts' fingertips, wherever their workflow may be, enabling them to be more efficient and effective.

"Now that we have Recorded Future enriching our artifacts in Resilient, we can quickly pivot on the data we have. We spend less time looking things up and more time making intelligent decisions based on the evidence collected."
 — Matt McKnew, Red Team Leader, Corporate Information Security (CIS) Program, Thermo Fisher Scientific

"Security teams can effectively lower risk only when they are armed to detect and neutralize attacks at every stage in its lifecycle — from tracking emerging threats, detecting events, to managing incidents before their business is impacted. Recorded Future's threat intelligence combined with IBM's security platform enables customers to better prevent, detect, and respond by rapidly connecting the dots to reveal relevant threats."
— Dr. Christopher Ahlberg, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder at Recorded Future

"To improve security operations, enterprises should examine internal network anomalies in context with malicious 'in-the-wild' threats. The IBM security immune system and threat intelligence from Recorded Future can enable enterprises to take a holistic approach that better prepares them to take necessary actions in real time."
Jon Oltsik, Senior Principal Analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group
