PlumChoice Announces 214 Percent Growth in Cloud Business

PlumChoice, Inc., the leading provider of premium technical services for cloud and IoT brands, announced that its cloud services business experienced year-over-year growth of 214 percent in the fourth quarter of 2016.

PlumChoice works with cloud resellers and distributors to deliver services for the unified communications, office productivity, infrastructure-as-a-service, mobility and security solutions they sell to businesses. Company executives say greater cloud access and understanding, coupled with a competitive, growing channel market, have resulted in the accelerated growth of PlumChoice's cloud business this year.

"Cloud resellers and distributors are wrapping their products with more services that make the leap to the cloud easier and more valuable for businesses," said Dave Hauser, vice president of PlumChoice's cloud business. "When resellers provide these services, their customers realize more benefits and efficiencies. This differentiates their cloud offerings, makes products stickier and ensures - and develops new - recurring revenue."

The accelerated demand for PlumChoice's third-party cloud enablement services has been driven by businesses' increased adoption of cloud solutions like Windows 10, Azure, Enterprise Mobility + Security and Office 365. This trend is bolstered by a realization by cloud resellers and distributors that they have to differentiate in a crowded channel market. These services strengthen their product portfolio, drive new revenue streams, increase profitability and ensure that end users fully benefit from their cloud products.

The trend in cloud application adoption growth is predicted to continue. IDC's (News - Alert) "Worldwide SMB 2017 Predictions" paper notes that by the end of 2018, 70 percent of SMBs in developed regions will have fully deployed their subscriptions of Microsoft (News - Alert) Windows 10. Additionally, it states that by 2018, Microsoft Office 365 adoption will surpass 50 percent by SMBs in developed countries.

Many of the cloud solutions that PlumChoice provides services for are core Microsoft products, like Windows 10, Azure, Enterprise Mobility + Security and Office 365. Over the past year, Microsoft has raised the bar for Cloud Solution Providers (CSPs), mandating that CSPs offer comprehensive services, thereby protecting user satisfaction, brand integrity and existing revenue streams.

"As they move toward offering more cloud solutions and the industry is transformed, channel partners are expected to do more, from pre-sales consultation all the way through customer training and ongoing services," said Hauser. "PlumChoice offers a compelling portfolio of services wrapped around Microsoft and other software providers' products, designed to enable channel partners to offer high-margin services to their customers, creating a consistent revenue stream. Offering these services helps channel partners deliver greater value to their customers and differentiate themselves."

PlumChoice primarily works with large national resellers and distributors, many of which are increasingly shifting their business toward cloud services. IDC predicted that by 2018, major IT distributors will have transitioned at least one-third of their business from hardware sales to cloud service sales or brokering.
