Daymond John to Keynote ISACA Flagship Conference

Daymond John, star of the ABC TV series "Shark Tank" and CEO and founder of FUBU, will deliver the closing keynote address at the 2017 North America Computer Audit, Control and Security (CACS) Conference, 1-3 May, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Joining John in addressing conference attendees will be Brent Bushnell, who will deliver the opening keynote. The CEO of Two Bit Circus, a Los Angeles-based experiential entertainment company, Bushnell also served as the on-camera inventor for the ABC TV show "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." Bushnell's keynote, titled "The Importance of Hard Problems" will address why the only problems worth solving are the hard ones.

"Comfort with risk and unknowns is a key aspect of learning and growth. When working on a team, the ideal scenario is to get everyone to that threshold where they are pushed to their limit but not further," said Bushnell. "When you have history with a team, you know where that threshold is, but it takes time to develop when that awareness isn't there."

The North America CACS Conference targets audit/assurance, COBIT, compliance, risk, security, and strategy/governance professionals. This year's program will include the following tracks:

  • Audit & Assurance-general and advanced tracks
  • Security/Cyber security-managerial and technical tracks
  • Integrated Risk Management
  • Data Analytics and Big Data
  • Leadership Development and Career Management
  • Governance
  • Industry Trends and Insights

An Enhanced Learning Package will be offered; with the Gold package, attendees will have the opportunity to meet John. Additionally, the conference will feature a special networking session as part of ISACA's Connecting Women Leaders in Technology program. Wellness opportunities will be offered, including fitness breaks and chair massages.

A new feature for 2017 will be the Master's Classes, giving participants access to longer, more in-depth sessions. The Master's Classes include:

  • Building a Data Analytics Program for Audit
  • How to Create a Business Case for a Cybersecurity Program
  • PCI (News - Alert) Data Security Standard: Dealing with the challenges of evolving standards

Attendees also will have the opportunity to participate in several pre- and post-conference workshops. The current schedule offers a wide range of topics for professionals:
