Elsevier Enhances Its Pulmonary Patient Education Video Content, Introduces New Bariatric Video LibraryPHILADELPHIA, November 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- New Video Content Reflects Current Medical Information and Includes Live Simulations and 3D Graphics to Educate Patients Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, has expanded its pulmonary patient education video library, adding more than 50 new titles, and introduced a bariatric video library. In addition, Elsevier has launched six individual video titles focused on in-demand topics including Fall Prevention, Lumbar Puncture, Thoracentesis, Reducing Falls After Stroke, and Pressure Injury Prevention. All of the new titles are available in English and Spanish. The videos, created with Elsevier evidence-based content, include a mix of ambulatory and inpatient content targeted to physicians, nurses, medical assistants and patients. The pulmonary videos are designed to treat and improve the lives of patients with typically chronic conditions, while the bariatric videos address the patient journey before, during and after treatment. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about one in 12 people (about 25 million) have asthma[1], and the American Lung Association reports that more than 11 million have been diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)[2]..
