BB seeks reports from banks on CSR activities in flood-hit areas


(United News of Bangladesh Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Dhaka, Sept 2 (UNB) - Bangladesh Bank on Tuesday directed all the 39 scheduled private and foreign commercial banks to send their corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities undertaken by them for the people of flood-affected areas.



A circular has been issued by the Green Banking and CSR Department of the central bank asking the scheduled banks to send mandatory reports on their CSR operations by September 11.

It was mentioned in the circular that the CSR activities were incorporated in the main activities of the banks as part of the move to build a human banking system through different productive programmes for the flood-affected people.


It said the banks have already set an instance of human banking system as they have conducted various CSR activities in different fields, including education, health, disaster management, women development and also in the areas of supporting underprivileged people.
