Movers & Shakers: Hospice by the Bay in Larkspur names new chief medical officer [The Marin Independent Journal, Novato, Calif. :: ]


(Marin Independent Journal (CA) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Aug. 28--Hospice by the Bay in Larkspur has named Dr. Margaret Bourne as chief medical officer for the nonprofit, which serves patients and families in Marin, San Francisco and North San Mateo counties.



Bourne is board-certified in family medicine, addiction medicine and hospice and palliative care. She joined Hospice by the Bay as medical director in 2007, after practicing for 10 years in primary care and addiction medicine.

----First Federal Savings and Loan of San Rafael has elected Keith Marsh, of San Anselmo, to its board of directors.


Marsh has a master's degree in real estate and finance from University of California at Berkeley and 41 years of banking and real estate experience. He began his career in 1973 at First Federal Savings and Loan of Carmel Valley. He then moved to San Anselmo and since 1985 has been the owner and operator of Marsh and Associates, an appraisal firm specializing in residential and small income properties. He also serves on the board of the nonprofit Marin Ventures.

----Bank of Marin has appointed David Short, of Cotati, as branch manager of the bank's downtown Novato branch on Grant Avenue. Short began working at Bank of Marin in 2006 in Petaluma, steadily rising from teller to branch manager. He is also president of the Board of Directors for Petaluma People Services Center and a 2013 graduate of the Petaluma Chamber Leadership program.

----Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. in Novato has appointed Tiffany Alvey to vice president of field claims and risk services.

Alvey will lead risk services and claims in personal insurance. She brings more than 20 years of experience to her new role and has held various leadership positions in claims and risk services since she joined Fireman's Fund in 1996.

Parallel to this appointment, Frank Sapio has expanded his responsibilities to include risk services and will continue in his role as commercial vice president of field claims and risk services. He has 25 years of insurance industry experience in claims and underwriting and has been with the fund since 2003.

----Terra Firma Global Partners, a boutique real estate company in San Rafael, has hired Bay Area native Abigail Greene Ryan as a sales associate.

Ryan started her real estate brokerage career in 2010 with Terra Nova Global Properties in North Carolina. She most recently worked brokering art and antiques, specializing in vintage advertising. Before moving to North Carolina, she opened and later sold a skate board shop in San Francisco. She also worked as an assistant director of Jernigan Wicker Fine Arts in San Francisco.

----Dr. Susan Mozayani and Dr. Way C. Yu of Marin Eye Care have opened a brand new, expanded office and optical shop at 440 Ignacio Blvd. in Novato.

----Albor Medical Solutions, a modern home health care equipment and supplies store, has opened a location at 834 Grant Ave. in Novato.
