With extensive involvement in PTA at all levels, Waugh brings to the position a wealth of knowledge, strong leadership skills, and expertise in building partnerships.

"Sophia is an exceptional advocate with an unwavering commitment to engage all families and make a difference for the education, health and welfare of every child. Her leadership, dedication and passion will be tremendous assets to the association and our members, partners and Board of Directors as we work together to support and take action for children and families across the country," said Otha Thornton, president of National PTA. We are proud to have her serve as Secretary-Treasurer for National PTA." Waugh has been involved in PTA for 40 years.
