Mexico : ITC GLOBAL wins three year contract to proivde broadband connectivity [TendersInfo (India)]

(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Satellite communications provider ITC Global has won a three year contract by offshore support vessel operator Harkand.

The contract is to provide broadband connectivity for mission critical voice, video and data applications on vessels operating in the Gulf of Mexico, the North Sea, Africa and Asia Pacific.

According to ITC Global, a private end-to-end satellite-based network has been deployed tailored to the unique applications of Harkand, which include real-time video support for undersea Remote Operated Vehicles (ROVs), and also crew communications.

The network offers connectivity to several Harkand vessels, such as the Swordfish, Viking Poseidon, and Spearfish. These vessels carry out a wide variety of missions like acting as bases for ROVs, surveys, offering manned saturation diving capabilities, and installation and repair of jumpers, umbilicals and other deep sea infrastructure.

Jim Parker, vice president Group Marine Assets at Harkand, said, Communications are critical to providing streaming video for our ROVs. ITC Global takes a proactive approach to recommending innovative designs that improve the quality and cost effectiveness of our service. We have come to take for granted how well ITC Global s services work.
