Selangor MB's aide Faekah quits PKR [New Straits Time (Malaysia)]

(New Straits Time (Malaysia) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SHAH ALAM: Menteri Besar Incorporated chief executive Faekah Husin quit PKR yesterday, citing loss in faith in the party leadership over the handling of the Selangor menteri besar crisis.

The former political secretary to Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, in a letter to party secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail yesterday, notified that her decision was with immediate effect.

In the letter, she cited loss of faith in the party leadership over the handling of the Selangor menteri besar crisis as her reason for quitting.

"I am taking this action because I have lost faith in the party leadership, which has evidently failed to address the issues arising from the Selangor menteri besar's position prudently and in accordance with proper procedures.

"The actions that have been taken by the party leadership against Khalid have deviated from the values of justice that have been championed by the party since it was founded on April 4, 1999," she wrote.

Her decision came two days after the party sacked Khalid for defying instructions to resign and vacate the menteri besar's position for PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

Faekah had, on July 2, been issued a show-cause letter by the PKR disciplinary board for making a scathing statement in relation to the menteri besar's position, despite PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's gag order on the issue to all party members.
