Synergy Billing Announces Training for Career Advancement

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. --(Business Wire)--

Synergy Billing, LLC, announced today its Junior Billing Associate (JBA) program to help teach, train, and mentor individuals entering the medical billing and coding field. The training, which provides 4 weeks of hands-on learning, bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-world medical billing and coding. The participants gain experience by engaging in the health care revenue cycle.

Healthcare jobs are expected to grow faster than any other industry - roughly 22%, or 3.2 million new jobs, by 2018. As baby boomers age, healthcare professionals will become more in-demand than ever. Despite demand increasing, most healthcare providers report challenges in obtaining reimbursement from third party payers due to inadequate training of billing and coding professionals.

"We have an epidemic here. The billing and reimbursement process in health care is extremely complex and there are no national standards or certifications. Community health centers report collecting less than 75% of possible reimbursements. For us, at Synergy (News - Alert) Billing, we have not been able to hire qualified candidates fast enough. Since the training doesn't exist we have created our own. We know it works because we are using it. I see our certification becoming the industry standard," reports M. Jayson Meyer, CEO, of Synergy Billing.

In addition to the health care revenue cycle, Synergy Billing's training places a special emphasis on Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). The Affordable Care Act identifies these safety net providers as a critical piece of health care delivery in the United States. Synergy Billing's Director of Training and Education, Marlegny Mourino, leads the initiative helping participants to gain healthcare knowledge and experience.

"Schools and specialized programs teach theorized knowledge, here we give participants what employers are looking for, experience. Fifty percent of participants end up working right here at Synergy Billing," explains Marlegny Mourino.

Synergy Billing, provides revenue cycle management and billing services to a special niche in health care known as Federally Qualified Health Centers. These centers serve more than 21 million patients annually and act as a safety net for the nation's neediest population. Synergy Billing was founded by entrepreneur M. Jayson Meyer who has been featured on the Oprah Winfrey show, CBS 48 Hours, and in the Wall Street Journal.
