TUNE Acquires MobileDevHQ, Enterprise App Store Analytics Solution

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SEATTLE, WA (PRWEB) August 04, 2014 TUNE (http://www.tune.com), the leader in attribution analytics and the company behind the products HasOffers and MobileAppTracking (MAT), today announced it has acquired MobileDevHQ (http://www.mobiledevhq.com). MobileDevHQ (MDHQ) provides a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution for mobile marketers to understand their inbound app marketing, including their app store visibility, search rankings, and competitive intelligence. MobileDevHQ's customers include enterprises, brands, and agencies such as Realtor.com, Hotels.com, and R/GA.

This marks TUNE's first acquisition since the company's recent rebrand, and supports the mission of making the mobile marketing ecosystem better, for everyone. Combined with TUNE, MobileDevHQ will provide more clarity into the impact and influence of app stores and other organic efforts on paid user acquisition and re-engagement.

Existing MDHQ customers will continue to login as before, view their existing data, and otherwise continue using the current MDHQ product during the transition.

TUNE's MobileAppTracking product currently shares many customers with MDHQ who have been regularly inquiring about further integrations between the two companies. In April 2014, TUNE and MDHQ began a partnership to offer one-click integration of MAT's paid attribution analytics to MDHQ's inbound app marketing capabilities for customers of both companies.

"We're thrilled about the opportunity to join the talented TUNE team and together continue building the best platform for all mobile marketers -- inbound and paid alike," said Ian Sefferman, Founder and CEO of MobileDevHQ. "Both of us being Seattle-based companies made even more sense to merge our teams. Seattle has a long history of being one of the best cities in the world for mobile innovation, dating back decades, and joining TUNE will continue this legacy." All MDHQ staff are now employees of TUNE. MDHQ founder Ian Sefferman is now General Manager of TUNE's newly created Inbound division, reporting directly to TUNE CEO Peter Hamilton.

"My beginnings as a professional were in SEO and Inbound marketing, and I'm so excited to be adding this solution to our products at TUNE," remarked Peter Hamilton. "It is clear that marketers need to understand the unpaid ways that people discover their apps as well as consider how this relates to their paid marketing channels. I believe the combination of MDHQ and MAT brings those worlds closer together. That said, I can't wait to work with Ian Sefferman every day to grow the mission that MDHQ has had all along. His team and their passion are astounding." Michelle Felice-Steele, Director of Mobile Product Management for Experian Consumer Services, who has been using the partnership between MDHQ and MAT since its inception, commented, "This is exciting news. It'll be a great partnership and will mean a much more powerful suite of tools when the data between the two become further integrated." In less than a year, TUNE has doubled in size to more than 215 employees worldwide across six offices. Bootstrapped from 2009 until 2013, the company raised a $9.4M investment led by Accel Partners last year. TUNE has utilized some of this investment for strategic initiatives over the past six months while continuing to focus on developing its products. TUNE is poised to see more than 100% revenue growth again in 2014.
