Laura Richards Joins National Board of The Trust for Public Land


(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 1 -- The Trust for Public Land issued the following news release: Laura Richards of Carrollton, Ga., has joined the National Board of Directors of The Trust for Public Land, the organization announced today.



Ms. Richards is currently the manager of Lakeview Farms in Carrollton and is also a member of the boards of the Tanner Medical Foundation in Carrollton and the PATH Foundation in Atlanta. Previously, she was managing editor of McMahon Publishing in New York and worked for A.D.A.M. Software in Atlanta.

"Laura Richards knows the value of protecting land for people and she will be an excellent partner in our effort to create parks for people across the country," said Page Knudsen Cowles, chair of the National Board. "We look forward to having her guidance and vision in the years ahead." Ms. Richards also worked for a time as a bicycle guide in Holland, France, Spain and Italy. She commented, "I know first-hand how important it is to provide ways for people to get outside and experience the outdoors. I have long been an admirer of The Trust for Public Land's work in providing ways for people and families to enjoy nature and I look forward to helping that effort."
