BRIEF: M&T names new chief technology officer [The Buffalo News, N.Y. :: ]


(Buffalo News (NY) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) July 31--M&T Bank has named Julieta Ross as senior vice president and chief technology officer, a new position at the Buffalo-based bank.

Ross will be responsible for managing the M&T Technology Organization, which includes enterprisewide information technology, applications development, architecture, engineering and technology operations.

Ross, a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, spent the past 13 years with Citibank, in different regional and global positions. Most recently, she was the bank's chief technology officer for Latin America and Mexico.

Her background also includes roles with Motorola Research, where M&T said she was "involved in projects instrumental to the development of smartphones," and "became a key author in the development of Bluetooth technology and patents." And at Arpro Technology, Ross helped develop one of the first Internet search engines, M&T said.




"Julieta brings a wide range of banking and information technology to M&T, particularly in the fields of Web-based and mobile applications, technologies, which are now essential to the daily delivery of financial service products," said Michele Trolli, M&T executive vice president and chief information officer. .
