Sarah Macken [Grimsby Telegraph (UK)]

(Grimsby Telegraph (UK) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SARAH Macken says she is "hungry" to make a difference as Louth and Horncastle's next MP.

The 37-year-old from London has promised to be approachable and accessible if elected to be Sir Peter Tapsell's successor.

And she is hoping to use her experience in business to help companies in the constituency to thrive.

Sarah is chief executive of Esco, a technical organisation which represents the electronics sector and also runs her own business development, marketing and research company, Astute Strategies.

She previously worked at the British Chambers of Commerce, where her responsibilities included rural affairs.

She said: "There are lots of small businesses and engineering companies that have got the potential to grow and I feel that because of the work I have done I can really help to promote the area." Speaking about the constituency, she said: "It feels like there's a lot to do and I'm a person that likes to do things and I feel quite excited about getting stuck in and trying to achieve things for the area." She said the issues concerning people in the constituency included pressures on public services and flooding, but added: "Generally people really like living here. It's a stunning environment with beautiful market towns. It really is a fantastic part of the country." There's a lot to do and I'm a person that likes to do things and I feel quite excited about getting stuck in Sarah Macken (c) 2014 ProQuest Information and Learning Company; All Rights Reserved.
