BRIEF: Arts Alive names new director [The Keene Sentinel, N.H. :: ]


(Keene Sentinel (NH) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) July 19--A non-profit organization aimed at promoting art and cultural activities in the Monadnock Region has chosen a new leader.

Jessica Gelter has taken over Arts Alive as its executive director. She replaces Kate Dean, who led the organization for two years.

Gelter, of Brattleboro, has experience leading art organizations in Vermont and has worked for five years in marketing for non-profit organizations in New England, according to a news release from Arts Alive.

Getler's worked as a teacher and publicist for several years at the New England Youth Theater, where she's an alumna. She's also worked with the Vermont Theater Company and with the Friends of Music at Guilford, Vt.

Arts Alive works to advance arts and culture in the Monandock Region by supporting professional developing for artists and promoting communication between art organizations and the wider community.



The organization also has provided financial backing to events such as the Monadnock International Film Festival and Art Walk in downtown Keene.

Gelter's skills and experience will help grow those efforts, said Carl Jacobs, chairman of the Arts Alive Board of Directors.
