CBJ officially starts eService for paying bills online [Jordan News Agency]

(Jordan News Agency Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Amman, June 28 (Petra)-The Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) has launched a software program enabling citizens to settle their private sector and government bills online.

The bank said Saturday in a statement that in using the software, e-FAWATEER.com, (translated as "your e-bills"), anyone with bank accounts will be able to view their bills the moment they are issued and can settle them online, using ATMs or through mobile or Internet banking.

The statement added that, currently, a number of Arab and local banks have joined the service, which was developed by Jordanian company Madfoo3atCom for Electronic Payments.E-FAWATEERcom. Using the software, customers will be able to access their electric, phone, water, education, healthcare, travel and tourism, e-Commerce and insurance bills, in addition to government fines, property taxes and other fees, subsequently ensuring "fast, low-cost transactions" for those seeking to be paid, as well as users paying their bills.

E-FAWATEER.com aims to provide Jordanians with a convenient, time-saving and flexible method to review and settle their bills using a single system. The service will offer Jordanians optimum flexibility and security, while paying their bills via electronic channels, such as mobile phones and laptop computers.

The service will also enable Jordanians to avoid any unnecessary service shut-offs that may occur due to delayed payments, as well as the immediate activation of an inactive service, which will positively impact the national economy as a result of faster cash-flow, higher effectiveness and time-efficiency.
