T3Media Announces Start of DPP (Digital Production Partnership) Testing for North American Produced Content Distributed in the UK

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) DENVER, CO -- (Marketwired) -- 06/25/14 -- T3Media -- the leading provider of cloud-based video management, delivery and monetization services for media and entertainment clients worldwide -- announced today that they have begun initial rounds of DPP file testing across UK broadcasters. "It is important that our clients' content originating in North America is delivered compliant with the new UK DPP standard," said Frank Cardello, COO at T3Media.

While there is an October 1, 2014 deadline for DPP readiness, T3Media plans on delivering DPP compliant files ahead of the deadline to support the US fall TV season. "That's why we are beginning to test and deliver content in the DPP spec now," said Geoff Bloder, Senior Solutions Architect at T3Media. "In some cases, that may mean delivering content in both the old spec -- often video tape -- as well as the new DPP spec in parallel. We are prepared to work with the North American content producers and UK broadcasters to ensure a smooth transition." In the last six months T3Media has invested in new technology to support DPP workflows. "Those investments include expanding cloud-based transcoding capabilities, audio loudness monitoring and correction, file based QC, metadata packaging capabilities, as well as infrastructure investments to help accelerate the distribution of files globally from T3Media's Platform," said Mark Lemmons, CTO at T3Media.

Additionally, T3Media serves as a support layer for UK broadcasters that license not only US produced material, but also internationally produced material that often comes from licensors that do not have internal DPP packaging capabilities.
