DHL Supply Chain names new MD for Malaysia [GCTL Insights Magazine (China)]


(GCTL Insights Magazine (China) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) KUALA LUMPUR, Jun 23 (GCTL) - DHL, the world's leading logistics company, today announced the appointment of Prakash Rochlani as Managing Director of DHL Supply Chain Malaysia. Prakash will report into Oscar de Bok , CEO Asia Pacific, DHL Supply Chain.



"Malaysia is one of our key markets in this region. It has a vibrant economy and we have a proactive investment strategy here to ensure we have the right infrastructure to support increasing customer demand for advanced supply chain solutions. With his proven experience in developing and growing both DHL's and customers businesses, Prakash will take our Malaysian business into its next phase of accelerated growth and operational development," said de Bok.

DHL Supply Chain Malaysia currently employs over 1,500 people over 25 locations nationally. In his new role, Prakash has overall responsibility for delivering world-class logistics operations to the broad portfolio of existing customers in Malaysia and generating sustainable business growth. His main focus will be delivering service excellence whilst maintaining a strong pipeline of local talent and operational capabilities.


Prakash added, "I am grateful to be given this great opportunity to lead the Malaysian team, a team that has delivered great results in the past. We will focus our efforts in ensuring we lead the innovation and green agenda for our customers, expanding and developing our sectors, with a strong focus on developing our people." Prior to the appointment, Prakash performed a number of roles in the company. He joined Al Futtiam Exel joint venture in the Middle East in 2003, and held management positions in Operations and Solutions Design before taking on the role of Director of Business Development for India in 2008. In 2011, he was promoted to Vice President Business Development, South and South East Asia ,. Prakash is a graduate from The University of Mumbai , holds a certificate in Supply Chain from APICS, USA , and is currently working towards a Global MBA from INSEAD.
