JEE results: Jaipur hits the jackpot [DNA : Daily News & Analysis (India)]


(DNA : Daily News & Analysis (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Amey Gupta from Bhopal scored 314 out of 360 marks in JEE Advanced and is hopeful of securing admission in IIT Mumbai in computer science.

He finished his schooling from S.R. Public school Bhopal, but chose Rajasthan's Kota to prepare for the examination.

"My utmost dream is to get into Google and make my family proud. They could not be a part of my accomplishment in Jaipur. But I will meet them soon," he added.

He said, "My elder brother is from IIT and always motivated me to dream high and achieve your goals. Live the moment is what I believe in." Son of an IFS officer and mother a home MAKER and has two elder brothers. He scored 93.5% in 12th standard and got 10 CGPA in 10th.



Amey is also a great cricket fan and likes to play when free.

dna correspondent @jaipurdna Govind Lahoti of Indore, took one step towards realising his dream of starting a software firm by securing 3rd rank in JEE Advanced 2014. He scored 322 out of 360 marks in the test.


"My dream is to form our own software company in India, so that we do not depend on other counties. Our country should have a software company," he said.

Govind wants to follow the footsteps of his brother, an IIT alumnus.

Govind, a student of Shri Vaishnav Academy (Indore), studied in Kota to prepare for the examination. For him coaching is not mandatory, hard work and focus is. "If you will not give equal weight to all the subjects, you will always fall. Study all the subjects as all are your favourites," he said.

"Never get frustrated, if worried talk to your parents and teachers they will always help you out. My parents are always encouraging and it's a present for them by me," Lahoti added.

dna correspondent @jaipurdna Declaration of results of JEE Advanced 2014 brought cheers on the faces of hundreds of students in Jaipur on Thursday.

The students danced to the tunes of drums and burst crackers as part of celebrations of their success in various institutes. They cut cakes and distributed sweets congratulating each other.

ALLEN Career Institute witnessed the largest celebrations with All India topper of the examination, Chitraang Murdia, 18, stealing the show. Apart from Chitraang, Govind Lahoti and Amey Gupta, secured third and eighth rank, respectively. Kushal Babel got the 27th rank.

Babel from Udaipur, Lahoti from Surat and Gupta from Bhopal, prepared for the examination by attending the residential preparatory course of the institute in Kota.

The trio had a rare occasion to meet chief minister Vasundhara Raje at her residence soon after a gala celebration with large number of their colleagues at the Jaipur-based branch of the institute.

ALLEN Career Institute director Brajesh Maheshwari said, "Is definitely highly delightful to see our students securing top positions but more important is our conviction that the system and methodology developed by us over 26 years is perfectly guiding talented students in maximizing their capabilities." He added that thousands of students from various parts of the country move to institute's Kota headquarters for preparation of competitive examinations.

Apart from the institute students, the results brought cheers for hundreds of students in the state.

Step By Step High School said in a release that 45 of its students had successfully cleared the JEE Advanced examination. The FIIT JEE Jaipur centre also had a lot to cheer with 12 of its students securing rank among 1000 All India ranks.

the new horizons After the declaration of the JEE advance, the IIT aspirants will file their choice for a number of courses. The process starts from June 20, 2014 and will continue till June 24.

The candidates who have cleared the exam will be eligible for the admissions to undergraduate courses at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
