Forbes Magazine Names Leading Battery and Light Bulb Franchise One of the Best Franchises in America

HARTLAND, Wis. --(Business Wire)--

As the franchise industry continues to gain momentum, Forbes magazine recently released its first-ever "Best" and "Worst" in franchising list. Batteries Plus Bulbs, the nation's first, largest and fastest growing battery and light bulb franchise, has been named one of America's Best Franchises, recognized for its continued growth, in addition to its outstanding, ongoing support of its franchise owners.

The Forbes rankings were created from performance and revenue metrics compiled and analyzed by FRANdata, a research and consulting firm that focuses on studying the comparative performance of franchise brands. FRANdata went through publicly available information on 3,000 franchise brands and measured them according to three main criteria: five-year unit continuity rate, unit growth rate and franchisee support score. The franchisee support score is comprised of three categories that are important to prospective franchisees, including financing, marketing, and initial and ongoing operational support programs. Forbes relied on FRANdata because it tracks financial and operational performance of all private and public franchises currently doing business in the U.S. Full results of the Forbes "best" and "worst" in franchising can be found at http://www.forbes.com/sites/groupthink/2014/05/27/how-do-you-rank-more-than-3000-franchise-brands/.

Batteries Plus Bulbs is ranked as the No. 4 franchise in Forbes mid-range investment category, where franchise investments range from $150,001 to $500,000. Batteries Plus Bulbs has a growth rate of 12 percent and continuity of 96 percent, which compared the number of stores the company opens versus the very few that ever close.

"This recognition by Forbes magazine is a great honor and speaks volumes to the strength of our brand and franchise opportunity," said Russ Reynolds, CEO of Batteries Plus Bulbs. "Not only did Forbes acknowledge Batteries Plus Bulbs for our unit growth, and the fact that our stores stay open, but the prestigious publication also gave us an A for franchisor support. Batteries Plus Bulbs' growth over the recent years has been phenomenal as we're currently opening more than one store per week. Additionally, over the past three years, one-third of our existing franchise owners have purchased an additional 140+ stores, which is an outstanding endorsement of our business model."
