TSA PreCheck Application Center Now Open at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport

(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ST. LOUIS, June 17 -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Transportation Security Administration issued the following news release: The Transportation Security Administration and Lambert-St. Louis International Airport today announced the opening of an application site for TSA PreCheck, an expedited screening program that allows travelers to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, keep their laptop in its case and keep 3-1-1 compliant liquids/gels in a carry-on bag. TSA is currently in the process of expanding to more than 300 application centers across the country.

The TSA PreCheck application process allows U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents to go through a pre-enrollment process online at tsa.gov and visit an application center to provide biographic information (e.g. name, date of birth, address, etc.), fingerprints, valid required identity and citizenship/immigration documentation and an application fee of $85 for a five-year membership.

"This application process greatly increases the availability of TSA PreCheck benefits to a broader population of travelers both in St. Louis and nationwide," said TSA's Missouri Federal Security Director Bill Switzer. "TSA PreCheck is enabling us to move away from a one-size-fits-all approach to transportation security, as we look for even more opportunities to provide the most effective security in the most efficient way." "The new TSA PreCheck application center in the St. Louis airport is a great benefit and customer service amenity to our passengers. They now have a convenient site to enroll in the program and take advantage of expediting the security checkpoint process," said Lambert Airport Director Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge.

Once approved, travelers will receive a Known Traveler Number and will have the opportunity to utilize TSA PreCheck lanes at security checkpoints at 118 participating airports and on 11 major airlines: Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, United Airlines, US Airways and Virgin America.

As always, TSA continues to incorporate random and unpredictable security measures throughout the airport and no individual will be guaranteed expedited screening.

Additional program information and how to enroll can be found at tsa.gov.
