Arrayent Announces Cloud Connect Development Kit for Texas Instruments SimpleLink™ Wi-Fi® Platforms for Internet of Things Applications

SAN FRANCISCO --(Business Wire)--

Arrayent (www.arrayent.com), the emerging leader in virtualization technology for the Internet of Things, today announced its Connect Development Kit for Texas Instruments (TI) SimpleLink™ Wi-Fi® CC3200 and CC3100 platforms for Internet of Things applications. The Development Kit enables designers to rapidly create a virtualized product hosted in Arrayent's Connect Cloud. The virtualized product can then be monitored and controlled from anywhere in the world via web service APIs.

"Arrayent's device virtualization technology has been adopted by a number of top tier consumer brands that are bringing connected products to market," said Amichai Ron, general manager of Wireless Connectivity Solutions at TI. Mr. Ron added, "the SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3200 wireless MCU with the onboard Arrayent Connect Agent is a complete Internet-on-a-chip™, in that it incorporates Wi-Fi plus a MCU to handle both IoT cloud connectivity and end product functionality. The Arrayent Connect Development kit will help our mutual customers accelerate their connected product time to market."

"We see growing interest in adding Wi-Fi connectivity into consumer products, especially among home appliance manufacturers," said Abid Hussain, Arrayent's vice president of Marketing. Mr. Hussain went on to say, "with the ease of use and low power modes that TI is talking about, it is now becoming compelling for product manufacturers to build Wi-Fi into all of their high volume poducts."

The Arrayent Development Kit contains the Arrayent Connect Agent, a cross-platform C library that simplifies device connectivity to the Arrayent Cloud. On the Cloud side, the Kit consists of an Arrayent Cloud user account, Arrayent web applications for configuring device data models and monitor and controlling connected devices, and a demonstration embedded application that leverages the Arrayent Connect Agent.

Developers can use the sample embedded application and an Arrayent web application called the Utility App to monitor and control LEDs and push buttons on the TI SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3200 LaunchPad evaluation board. Developers can then use the Arrayent Configurator web application to define their own device data model in the Arrayent Cloud and implement an embedded application that supports that data model. Arrayent provides the source code of its demonstration embedded application as a starting point. Once the data model has been implemented in the Arrayent Cloud and the embedded application has been modified to implement that data model, developers can go back to the Utility App to test out their new connected product prototype. It is not uncommon for engineers to get a simple prototype working in a single day.
