Don Meyer memorial service begins in South Dakota

(Associated Press Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — As many as 6,000 people are expected to attend coach Don Meyer's memorial service in South Dakota, which will also be streamed on the Internet.

Meyer had among the best basketball win records in history when he died Sunday of cancer in Aberdeen where he finished his career at Northern State University.

A public memorial service will be held on campus in the Barnett Center starting at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Doors open at 2 p.m. and parking will be available around campus because students are gone for the summer.

Photos and video won't be allowed, even on cellphones.

The Internet stream will be available at http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/northern.portal? .

A second memorial service will be held June 1 at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee.
