Introduction of Taoufik Jelassi's book 'Strategies for E-Business, Concepts and Cases' [Agency Tunis Afrique Press]

(Agency Tunis Afrique Press Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) TUNIS (TAP) - Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Information and Communication Technology Taoufik Jelassi, on Thursday, introduced the new edition of his book written in English and entitled "Strategies for E-Business, Concepts and Cases." The 730-page book, published by the London-based "Pearson," was co-authored by two prominent professors specialising in strategy and innovation (Albrecht Enders/Germany) and in business administration (Francisco Martinez-Lopez/Spain).

It presents new concepts and strategies for the use of new technology in business management and e-commerce.

Through case studies, the book also presents experiences of major international companies and countries that have invested in e-business to promote their business and develop their economies.

"The book summarises all these experiences and is an attempt to benefit of some strategies to apply  them in the national development model," Jelassi told TAP.  "Tunisia is rich in skills able to implement such strategies, he said, adding that the future action will be based on the improvement of national electronic basic infrastructure to help Tunisian skills meet challenges." Tunisia has set up a strategy to improve its technological infrastructure and promote digital economy.

This strategy is entitled "Smart Tunisia 2018." The project also involves e-government and will be conducted in partnership with the public and private sectors and the civil society, also said the minister.

Interim Prime Minister Mehdi Jomaa attended the book launch.

He said it reflects the high abilities of government members and wished it will help develop vital sectors, particularly the administration, to keep pace with the progress experienced by other sectors.

Before his appointment last January as Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Information and Communication Technology, Taoufik Jelassi was, notably, professor of E-Business and ICT and Dean of the "Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées," Paris.
