Finsbury appoints Baker as chairman [Western Mail (Wales)]


(Western Mail (Wales) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) LEADING manufacturer of cake and bread bakery goods Finsbury Food Group has appointed Peter Baker as nonexecutive chairman.

Mr Baker will take up his role with the Cardiff headquartered business, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange, in July.

Mr Baker, 61, has more than 30 years' senior chief executive and directorships experience within the global bakery and consumer packaged goods industry.

Most recently he was managing director of Maple Leaf Bakery.

He has also held chief operating officer and director positions at RHM Consumer Brands and British Bakeries, as well as being a managing director of Rank Hovis Mills. He also served as vice president of European trade association for food and drink the CIAA.



Finsbury has confirmed that both Martin Lightbody and David Marshall will step down as non-executive chairman and non-executive director respectively.

Chief executive of Finsbury Food Group, John Duffy, said: "I am very pleased to welcome Peter to the group as chairman.
