Mintz Levin's Thomas S. Crane Appointed to Board of MassMEDIC


BOSTON --(Business Wire)--

Thomas S. Crane, a member of the Health Law Practice of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glvsky and Popeo, P.C., has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Medical Device Industry Council (MassMEDIC). Mr. Crane will serve a three-year term.



MassMEDIC is an organization of medical device manufacturers, suppliers and associated non-profit groups in Massachusetts and the surrounding region.

Founded in 1996 by medical device company executives to establish a unified voice for the Bay State's vibrant medical technology sector, MassMEDIC has grown to become the largest regional medical device association in the United States, with over 350 members representing manufacturers, product developers, suppliers, research institutions and academic health centers. Over the past 15 years, the efforts of MassMEDIC and its members have driven MedTech industry success and growth in the region, establishing Massachusetts as the nation's second largest medical technology community.


Mr. Crane is nationally recognized for his experience with fraud and abuse. Practicing in Boston and Washington, DC, he advises national and local clients on structuring complex strategic affiliation arrangements and transactions to comply with the applicable fraud and abuse laws as well as the variety of other regulatory requirements to meet today's health reform challenges. His work in defending clients against anti-kickback, Stark Law, false claims, and whistleblower allegations includes litigation, internal investigations, voluntary disclosures, and negotiating settlements and Corporate Integrity Agreements (CIAs).
