Colorado Celebrates Success of Region's Venture-Backed Tech Companies At New Conference for CEOs and VCs

DENVER --(Business Wire)--

With a string of recent successful acquisitions and IPOs as a backdrop, the Colorado technology community will celebrate the growing potential of the region's technology community at the inaugural Colorado Venture Summit, an invitation-only event in Denver in June.

The new conference will convene CEOs of Colorado venture-backed companies with out-of-region and local venture capitalists at a day-long event featuring content about the technology economy here, overviews of successful venture-backed companies and panel discussions on the benefits of the local environment for young tech companies.

The conference will be held at Coors Field in downtown Denver with a private dinner and followed by evening evnt open to all of Colorado's technology company founders and CEOs. The Summit is expected to attract about 100 of the area's top CEOs and founders, along with local and out-of-region venture investors.

"The Colorado Venture Summit will be the first time that most of Colorado's venture-backed founders and CEOs will be found at the same event and this will be a magnet for venture investors," said David Gold, chair of the Summit and a managing director at Access Venture Partners. "Since 2008, over $3.5 billion has been invested by venture firms in Colorado technology companies and the state has emerged as the top generator of technology innovation between the coasts, raking in the third most venture capital per capita of any state."

A highlight of the Summit will be panel discussions offering different perspectives on the burgeoning tech scene in Colorado. Jeff Diehl, managing director for Adams Street Partners from Chicago and Mike Majors, managing director for Siemens (News - Alert) Venture Capital from Boston will discuss how the industry outside of Colorado views companies and the opportunity in the region. In another panel, local tech executives John Levisay, CEO for Sympoz, Walter Knapp, CEO for Sovrn and Dick Williams, CEO for Webroot will discuss the advantages of building a company in the state.

Additionally, Friday, June 20 will feature individually scheduled site visits at Colorado venture-backed companies. Scheduling and sign-ups will be available before and during the event.
