Kaplan University Promotes Dr. Sara Sander as Vice President of Its Newly Formed School of Social and Behavioral Sciences


DAVENPORT, Iowa --(Business Wire)--

Kaplan University today announced that Dr. Sara Sander has been named Dean and Vice President of the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. In this role, Dr. Sander will oversee the largest school at the University which includes the programs formerly under the Schools of Arts and Sciences, Legal Studies and Public Safety.

Foundational to her role, Dr. Sander will provide academic leadership, financial management and vision. She will spearhead the school's strategic transformation of its courses and programs to meet the ever-changing needs of today's learners. Together with her leadership team, Dr. Sander will provide academic oversight for both the undergraduate and graduate degree programs. As Vice President and Dean of the School she will report directly to the University Provost, Dr. Betty Vandenbosch.

Sara's 17-year career with Kaplan University began as an Admission Advisor with several promotions that provided her with a broad understanding in online higher education. Most recently, as Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, her many accomplishments included leading the creation and addition of several programs and specialties such as undergraduate and graduate psychology, human services, and early childhood development; building a virtual community of student organizations at Kaplan University; and fostering an academic environment that encourages faculty scholarship.

Dr. Sander earned a Bachelor and Master of Communication from University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. She earned a Doctoral degree in Adult Education from Capella University (News - Alert).
