NetRelations Launches Biblica.com on EPiServer 7 CMS and Commerce

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Beverly Hills, Calif. (PRWEB) April 03, 2014 NetRelations, an award-winning international web design and development agency, today announced the launch of biblica.com, a content and ecommerce website for Biblica, a non-profit organization with a mission to transform lives through God's Word, built on the EPiServer 7 CMS and Commerce platform. Biblica is a leading provider of online resources for Bible study and Bible purchases for both consumers and religious and missionary organizations.   "Over time, our community has turned to our website more and more for Bible study guidance, to donate to our mission, to purchase Bibles and to follow our mission in the world. Our existing sites were creaking under the strain, so we urgently needed a better platform, and an updated and unified design," said Doug Lockhart, CEO of Biblica. "Our website requirements were complex, so we weren't relishing undertaking this project." The Challenge Before the launch of their new site, Biblica had two websites: biblica.com and biblicadirect.com. As a result, they were missing the opportunity to blend content and commerce for maximum impact, which had a negative effect on their mission and their ability to attract donations and secure both B2B and B2C Bible sales. The two websites were based on different technologies, and a purchase showed up as a handoff from one site to the other. The sites had different designs and, although both had highly valuable content, the structure made it difficult for visitors to find what they were looking for.

Partnership for a Solution Biblica engaged NetRelations and their design partner, Primitive Spark, to combine the previously separate content and commerce websites. Goals included implementing an up-to-date brand and user experience with a best-of-breed technology platform that would allow Biblica to manage their content, catalog, ecommerce and donations with ease.

The redesign, by leading UX firm Primitive Spark, provided an opportunity to re-architect the website completely with a new look and feel and responsive design. These are essential for online Bible study, digital purchases and downloads, B2B and B2C commerce, as well as access to all the information about Biblica's work across the world. With united and updated information architecture, the site is easier for visitors to navigate and get to the information they need. The new design provides an updated look for a forward-thinking, digitally focused non-profit.

NetRelations focused on front-end development, administrative configuration and back-end integration across a variety of services, including shipping and tax calculations (both US and international) and a payment gateway, as well as Biblica's ERP for inventory and order processing. The site offers custom covers for bulk Bibles, digital downloads and online Bible study, and the opportunity to donate.

Results With over 30 content editors across the world, Biblica now has a tool that is both easy to use and has the power to engage site visitors with personalization, local languages and up-to-date marketing techniques.

"Now that we've launched the new website, we are eagerly anticipating extending our reach into international markets, using the capabilities for multiple languages and currencies," said Lyndel Pettibone, CTO of Biblica. "With NetRelations, a project we were anxious about has gone really smoothly, and we're delighted with the result. We've formed a partnership that will take us to higher and higher levels of online effectiveness." -- About Biblica Biblica produces translations and biblical resources to meet the needs of people in different cultures, conditions, and beliefs.
