World Wide Gap [Middlesboro Daily News, Ky. :: ]

(Middlesboro Daily News (KY) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) March 30--The Internet has become a necessity for many homes and businesses to connect to the world outside their walls. Local service provider, World Wide Gap, can keep you in the Internet loop while keeping your business needs close to home.

World Wide Gap was opened in 1998 by Larry Grandey and his son Larry Grandey II in Harrogate on Pickadilly Avenue. In 2002 they moved to Middlesboro to be closer to the majority of their clients.

The company began by providing dial-up Internet service but have changed with the demand for new technology. They are now the only local company that provides wireless Internet to the area's businesses.

World Wide Gap continues to expand and change, most currently with the introduction of web design and email hosting services for the business sector.

Grandey has noticed the changing economy beginning to affect his business six years ago.

"Everybody's pulled everything back and become tight-fisted with their expenses," said Grandey. At one time World Wide Gap was providing Internet to businesses throughout the Midwest, but because this service has become more common across the nation he has only continued his service with local business locations.

Grandey attributes his continued success to the specific market he sells to.

"We fill a niche in the city, in the county, that nobody else does. We offer high speed Internet access to companies that otherwise probably wouldn't be able to afford it," said Grandey.

Grandey believes personal service has been a major contributor to the success of World Wide Gap.

"We've really stuck with it so we can provide service to the local customer," said Grandey.

World Wide Gap offers domain hosting, email access and high speed Internet access to businesses in the Middlebsoro area. They can be found online at or by phone at 606-248-4446.
